1999 accord lx 4 cyl auto ignition

Default 1999 accord lx 4 cyl auto ignition

mornin people ive just been givin a 1999 accord lx 4 cyl auto eletric windows and sunroof ignition is laying on floor in pieces followed it over to fuse box my question is if i buy new switch and pigtail does it need to be reprogramed or is it plug and play THANKS in advance Butch

Not sure what the question is here, I'm slow.

Your key has a chip that "talks" the the pcm, so replacing the electrical part of the switch will not cause you to re-program anything.

Of course if you are having to replace other things (key cyl) and have to get a new key, just remember your key and pcm still "know" each other, so if you tape the old key to the pcm.....they will still be friends ......means your car runs.

ok who "givin" you the Accord?
Why is the ignition on the floor?
Seems kinda odd to me, what is the deal?

lol yeah my not so level headed brother gave me car after it sat for 2 yrs they gave him grief with the recall thing he got po ed and took the lock and tumbler apart after it would start run stall start run for days then stall again i figured out how to put back together i wanted to replace it all but thought i would have had to have it reprogramed didint know i could tape key to steering column and fool the pcm great idea so i will try this new harness from back of old switch if it dont work i will get a used tumbler and key from ebay and then it will be all readt hopefully rite now it just cranks although i haveint heard the fuel pump come on where is pump in tank thanks for replies Butch

put back together my lock and tumbler only 1 little extra piece it was om floormat i think its paret of switch anyway does anybody know what the switches and brass syninoid do that r part of the switch and column cover they plug into wiring

I think it is going to be the solenoid that allows the key to be removed when it is in park.

It might also be the RFID antenna for the immobilizer.

well got the tumbler and key back into ignition new harness on back of switch and it fired rite up been sitting for yr and a half took it out for an hr cruise no problems there is a little noise underhood a little louder than a tick mite be a slightly bent valve but im only into this ice cold airconditioned black beauty for 37.99 plus plates even got a alpine disk changer in it should make my 16 yr old happy Thanks for all of your help Butch
