Default 2000 Accord LX manual speedometer help?

So I have been trying to fix this for the past week, and I still can't find an answer. My speedometer started acting wierd out of nowhere, and I've replaced the VSS and checked the connections, but now my speedometer doesn't move at all. I heard from someone that there is a gear that may be the problem where the VSS goes, but I haven't seen anything online about it. There is a CEL and I checked it and it says to replace the VSS. Please help?

What brand and part number did you use to replace the VSS?

What is the actual code you got on your car?

Does your cruise control work?

I bought a VSS from Amazon, not exactly the best place to buy a part, but I've bought parts from there before, and they have not failed me yet.

I don't remember the code, but I can check after work.

My cruise control never worked lol. But the reason it didn't work at first was because the clutch/brake actuator switch didn't have that plastic/rubber plug.
