2000 Honda accord ignition
well,
Went to turn the honda off on my lunch and the ignition was tight feeling and key would not go to 0 position or release the key. can turn car forward and start it. but after a while the battery dies.(probably from not turning completely off). so I read and tried everything in the book and internet to release key, finally had to call locksmith...he came and after taping the keys and wiggling he got the key out. He wanted over 400 to replace ignition lock and switch. I refused. I do alot of the work myself on my car... cant imagine paying that much. my question is Do I need the whole assembly? just the ignition lock with key? it 200 for assembly and 20 for lock cylinder. please someone tell me whats best.

Perhaps a new key from Honda might solve the problem. Worn key can cause same problems as worn lock assy.
I could not find any detailed info on removing/replacing the key lock assy.
good luck
