2001 EX Tranny Problems
Hey guys I need some major help please. I have a 2001 Honda Accord EX 4 Cyld Auto Transmission with 121,000 Miles. Recently the tranny screwed up. When you put it in drive it is like it stays in neutral for a couple of seconds and then slams hard into drive. Also when you drive it, it is like it changes into neutral then goes into the next gear. Once the engine warms up it does fine. I talked to the local honda dealer and they said the warranty on the transmission had been extended to 109,000 miles, but that doesn't help me out. I took it to a local shop and the guy told me that the code said that a pressure sensor switch was bad and the code P702 or P602, (sorry can't remember which one), said that it is an internal transmission problem and I would have to have a new tranny. I am having trouble buying that because it does fine once it gets warm. I have had several people tell me that it is just a sensor that is bad and a lot of people have had this problem. Can anyone help? Thanks!!

RE: 2001 EX Tranny Problems
You really should contact American Honda 1-800 number in your owners manual.
With the miles you have there is a real good chance they will make you a 50/50 deal.
you have to schmooze them a little bit,[I LOVE my Honda//I want to keep it Forever]and if you have a service history at the dealer that is a big plus.
It is impossible to diagnose the transmission on line, even with the code that was probably having to do with mis-matched shaft speeds, there still needs to be line pressure tests done.
