2001 fan speed problem
hey gals/guys. i just posted in the new member section saying i was going to ask this question.
alright my wife has a 2001 honda accord ex 2.3 liter engine. the problem is with the a/c /heat fan speeds. i know this is a common problem and that the resistor seems to be the problem from what i have read/researched. please tell me if im wrong though.
the fan does not work on 1,2,3 settings but works perfectly on the 4th speed setting. i know the car bypasses for the 4th speed setting and that is why i think it is the blower motor resistor. however i do not know where to get this part ( possibly here is lowest price if it is right part http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...=HEATER+BLOWER)
so if you all think that is the part i need to fix, can you tell me how to get to it (possibly in glove box??) , and also best place to get the part. i would greatly appreciate it as winter is approaching fast and my wife drives 80 miles a day to and from work.
thanks
JP

RE: 2001 fan speed problem
Not in the glovebox, it may need to be removed or its under the glove box and some of the lower dash will need to be removed, not difficult. I dont know why but that link to that parts website does not work for me, I am using firefox and sometimes links just quit working, I dont get it.
The part you are thinking is bad is correct, I saw the link went to an older CRX but maybe they use the same part number.
