2002 accord 4cyl auto codes help
The codes mean the computer sees a problem in the circuit of the sensor. That can mean a sensor is bad, the wiring has an issue, or possibly a bad engine computer. To prevent wasting money on unnecessary parts, you should do some testing. I'd recommend spending $22 on a shop manual you can purchase from automanualsource.com.
I'd recommend clearing the codes, then see what codes return when you drive the vehicle. Before clearing the codes, make sure the battery is charged and the connections are secure. I'd also go through and check every fuse. There are 3 fuse boxes (one in the engine bay and a fuse box under the driver's and passenger dash). There may also be a fuse box for the ABS.
11-1
18-1
81-1
These codes are for the ABS system. 81-1 is malfunction of the control unit, so start with this code before the other 2 codes. Check fuses/wiring at the control unit for obvious damage/corrosion in the connector.
P1753
P0705 - this code is not in my shop manual, but it is the same description as a P1705.
P1259
P0700 - Generic transmission code, address P1753, P0705
P1259 - Vtec issue. It runs off oil pressure, so check the oil level first. Check that connector is secure and no corrosion in the electrical connector.
P0141 - test for an open circuit in the O2 sensor plugged into the catalytic converter.
P1753

What a great and in depth response, thank you.
I believe I did do a reset before I had Oriellys read these codes, I read on the internet to remove the clock-back up fuse from the under dash passanger sidefuse box ,, fuse # 13 7.5 amps. I am pretty sure it did reset because the car ran and drove great for 10 miles or so before it started shifting funny again. I have removed the 3 solenoids and checked their ohms to be in range at 11.5 ohms. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more time and start over from where you have directed me.
Thank you very much for a starting point.

Update: I spent the money and bought a Diaglink (DIY Version of MD802) so I can read and clear my own codes. I cleared them all and drove the car around awhile. The only driving issue the car has is when it is ready to shift it acts like it is on a rev limiter but it isn't. If I back off the throttle it shifts normally. Reading codes after driving I got P0141, I checked the downside O2 sensor and it had the wires yanked out of the plug. I have a new one ordered. The next code is P1259, after doing some research I need to get the oil changed and see if the problem stays. So in the next few days I am getting a full synthetic oil change. The last code it has is 11-1 and I have ordered a right front wheel speed sensor.
So I wonder if fixing these things could fix the weird shifting it does between gears?
I did order and download the user manual you suggested but I havent had time to read it yet. Just wondering if you have any other suggestions for me.
Thanks in advance
Dave
