Default 2004 Accord 4cyl cooling problems

I have a 2004 Accord exl 4 cyl auto. Car is running extremely hot, top rad hose is hot, and lower hose is cool to the touch. At first the rad fans were not operational, switched relays and fans now working. Is this a thermostat problem, or possibly a water pump issue?

I moved your thread to the General Tech Help section. The DIY section is not for help questions.

If you switched the relay and it worked, then the original relay there may have been bad.

Can be a thermostat problem, if car is running hot and lower hose is still cool.

If your thermostat isn't opening properly that very well could be cause for over heating and top hose to be hot/lower cool as redbull stated
