2004 accord sputtering

You may want to get the codes checked anyway. Most parts stores do this as a free service.
As for the sputter, does it happen when accelerating, decelerating, or coasting? Any work done on the car not long before the problem started happening?

I put in new plugs , because I had been getting skip. Happens mostly when I am just about moving along 35 mpg. But not all the time. I looked at engine and looks pretty easy to get to erg ports. Will try cleaning on weekend. I wonder if one of the coils is bad. Each plug has its own

If it is an automatic... Start car, press and hold the brake, put in drive and then slowly press the gas pedal thus slowly raising the rpm's and try and find a sweet spot between idle speed and 3,000 rpm where the engine stumbles. If you find it hold the rpm's at that speed for a while and see if you can force an engine code.
