I purchased an 05 accord 4cyl 5 speed it has 130k. The transmission seems loud to me I didn't know if this is common for this car or not. It makes like a loud humming noise only while you're in gear and driving down the road just wanted to know if I should be concerned about it?

 

How do you know it is the transmission? Is the humming noise speed related or engine RPM related?

 

It's just when I'm driving I can rev the engine in neutral and the engine sounds fine.

 

That still leaves lots of room for tires, bearings, axles/half-shafts, the clutch...

 

Tires are brand new Michelin. And it's not the half shafts I guess I'm not sure on how to explain it I know it seems louder once you in a higher gear around 40mph. Maybe it's just me but I think for an 05 it should be a lot quieter then what It is
