Default 2006 Honda Accord LX SE Oil Change Help!!

My 2006 Honda Accord needs an oil change every 5,000 miles. I think that's correct.

I bought the Accord in August of 08 with 12,000 miles and had an oil change at 15,000. I had another one after that in February but was unsure at what mileage.

The mileage sticker for this recent oil change said 23,713 or May of 09. My mileage was at 25,700 and it's May now so I got an oil change. I don't see how I would have gone 7,000 miles in 3 months. going to and from work every week is like 350 miles or one tank of gas.

So, what I want to know is will my car be okay if I did go 7,000 miles by accident this time and not the 5,000 like Honda recommends? The little orange wrench light came on and the oil life said 15%. I don't go by that as the sticker is a better gauge. But if my car had the oil at 15% I just want to know if my car is okay. They used 5 w 20 oil.

Will going over the oil change interval by 2,000 miles, will that have hurt my car? It is fairly new too and great condition.

You're OK.

Personally, I think the oil-use % is a much better indicator. It takes into account a lot more than just the miles. It figures how many times you start the engine, how much time when the engine is cold, how many short-trips, how many long-trips, how much time you use really high RPM, all kinds of stuff like that.
