Hi Ruyd1,
Looks like good information to be armed with when taking the car to the the dealer about this problem. Sounds like Honda is quietly trying to fix the design problem even though they insist it isn't a 'problem'.
Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forum!

just received in the mail today Honda Rear Brake Pad Settlement.. If you fill it out you can get reimbursed for the brake job you had at 20K.. Well in my case it didn't cost me, I took it back to the dealer and they took care of it.. But what about at 35K when I need back brakes again??? I am taking this to the service manager to see what he says..

Ok so Im alittle upset.
My 09 has 20k on it and I have been through TWO sets of pads in the rear.
The dealer replaced the first set and I was told to submit a claim in the class action law suit for the most recent set which I replaced myself.
Is there a fix or is this going to be an issue for for as long as I own the car?

Whats up with Honda not wanting to address the issue?

Honda already released new rear brake pads with different material, V-springs, and instructions to check the caliper slide pins to see how they were installed and switch the top and bottom slide pins as necessary.

There also were new front brake pads released.

Here's the link to someone's scanned copy of the revised rear brake pads instructions that come with the pads. I still have extra sets of both old and new rear pads; they have different part numbers.
