The resistance reading would be a little high for a good solid ground connection. Still somewhat inconclusive, depending on the meter lead touching chassis metal. It may or may not be an issue with the wiring or connector coming up from G801 (e.g, the ground may be good). Sounds like you haven't removed the rear deck cover to be able to see G801.

Can you test for voltage on connector A on the left C pillar?

Again, can't stress enough to be very careful in that area due to the airbag. Reminder: negative battery cable needs to be disconnect for at least 3 minutes prior to any work (a little longer is better). You'll need to reconnect afterward to test with rear defogger on.

Hate to hijack threads but I am getting desperate. I am struggling to get the infamous clip to release...even after striking with a hammer...I assume the clip cover has the "air bag" label on it???? Does anyone have any good advise on releasing that clip? I am working on a 2 door coupe if it matters. Any help would be appreciated

If you remove the other side C-pillar trim panel, you can also touch the meter red lead to connector A (+) and meter black lead to connector B (ground) to check the voltage.

Hey Redbull, thanks so much for your help.

Got the other trim off and there as plain as day is a terminal with no wire on it. Hooked up and I have current. Very strange that this would stop working around the time I had the car in to Honda for a fender repair and recall a couple yrs ago.
I also fixed my mother's 03 civic yesterday. She had a wire off her defroster in the trunk. Found that easily without taking off trim.

I never did get the clip to release. I don't see how it can. I just pried it out with a screwdriver. Then using toothpicks to wedge out the 4 prongs from the metal pin, was able to take off the green connector

You're welcome. Glad you found the problem.

balbert,

The coupe's C pillar trim cover removal is slightly different than the sedan. If you can take a few pictures of the area and post them, I may be able add notes to the pics.

Those types of clips are not easy to get off, it takes a good hit or several good hits with a mallet, exactly on the head of the clip.
