88 Accord... some problems
Hey!
I'm Ashley, and a first time Honda owner. I was always a Toyota girl. Anyways, I bought my 1988 Honda Accord LX for $400 a couple weeks ago. Put in a new battery, fixed the rust around the rear wheel wells, replaced the brake pads and rotors, fixed the passenger side window that wouldn't go down.
The other issues I"m having are as follows.... I finally got it registered and insured yesterday. Took it for a drive, and noticed this nasty smelling plastic smell... not to mention smoke. Turns out my front left caliper locked up!!! I bought the piece and I'm gonna attempt to replace it. The car idles and shifts rough unless it's been driven for awhile. BuT LET ME TELL YOU this little old thing has a lot of kick to it!!! Seriously... wasn't expecting that. OH! And my drivers side door doesn't lock. The lock wont' go down. With and without the power locks... weird.
So yeah, that's my car, and this is me... hi!!

Have you tried holding the drivers door handle open as you push the lock down? I have a 1990 Accord, and you need to hold the handle out, either on the inside or the outside, to operate the power lock or the manual one. Just something to try.

Well luckily my friends mom used to have the same car, and it's to make sure that you don't lock your keys in your car. Silly me, why didn't I attempt to lock the door with the KEY from the outside lol... That works and it locks all the doors!
