89 Accord LX 2bl codes
Is there a way to get trouble codes from this car? I am having multiple issues with it and there is no check engine light or anything that I can see as far as diagnostics go. thank you for any help
Ok so I was able to fix a sputtering problem just by changing out bad plug wires and it fixed the main issue.
Now it is back to the original problem.
When starting from a stopped position in any gear it hesitates; if I just lay it on it hesitates less but I cant do that with a car in front of me so it isnt a leave it alone thing. It only does this at around 1000 to 1200 rpm and only when under load (in 2 and D3 and D4) not in neutral or park.
I know because I put the car in gear with brakes pressed and P-brake engaged and gassed it a little in each gear.
Heres the run down on my car:
The car currently has 233,248 miles on the engine, a newish tranny with about 75000 miles on it, new radiator, water pump, and hoses, belts are at around 2k miles, oil change about 2 weeks ago, original carb has been cleaned only with carb cleaner sprayed into it and has been removed and reinstalled twice (earlier post describes: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...roblems-51025/), new fuel filters both of them, new spark plugs/wires, and a new battery.

At a steady speed of ~45 mph, do you feel a "slight" miss in the engine when warm?
The #7 vac hose, saw that you replaced them (?) at the rear -firewall side of carb - can and will break....it is at the very base of the carb on the back side.
Are the rest of the tune up items up to date...cap, rotor, plugs?

I do have new plugs and wires but not new rotor or cap. I will try these things and update as soon as I install them. I also have not tried a steady pace ~45 and I will try that. I remember a slight hesitation up there somewhere but I was only looking at the rpm range not the speedometer so I will check that as well.
As for vacuum hose #7 I did replace it and I was careful not to damage it when I installed it however I will recheck that and do a vacuum test when I can.

In the auto trans the #7 hose is hard to detect......in the manual trans it is easier as you have better contol over the rpm's (manual trans will fall "flat on its face ~1400 rpms under light acel....just about the time you'd expect the secondarie(s) to open, making you think a power valve or acel pump was bad)
...that being said. I was converting rpm's to MPH (for the auto).....so you are correct in watching rpm range vs mph.....
