89 Accord LX Idle speed over revving
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people learning to do this stuff themselves. I've made a good living out of repairing cars for a long time. But I also sent many people home telling them, you can do this yourself for about 1/20th the cost. Just sit down and take your time.
I never really got into carbs, being born in the late 1970's most of my experience has been with stuff made from the late 80's and up. Most cars had gone to FI by then. And learning carbs is very in depth. The few times i've done it, it's very involved and I had to get up and walk away several time for aggravation's sake. But if you can stay with it, stay focused, and not get angry, you can do it as well as anyone.
Vac hoses can be tough little gremlins. You never know when one little pinch, crack, or leak is the cause of massive problems. The most frequently seen one for me was the Fords with the broken or cracked line that causes the HVAC control to push all the air out the defrost. I've seen people charge literally hundreds of dollars to do $4 worth of work, and the poor suckers pay them thinking nothing more than I have my AC back. Just do them one at a time, maintain the correct size and path and it's a cake walk.

Good sound advice on the vacuum hoses ill make sure to keep it in mind when i get to the cussing step of fixing the carb lol.
So the final descision is to either A) get a rebuilt stock carb Rebuilt Carburetors | Remanufactured Carburetors for Sale | Carb-x.comHonda | Accord | 4 Cylinder Engine | Honda | Foreign Carburetors | Carburetor Exchange or B) get the weber upgrade Honda Accord 86 89 Weber Carburetor Conversion 32 36 | eBay
thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated, ive looked into both and im not 100% sure how i should lean on this one....the weber one might give it a bit more umph up the hills in my town but im also a fan of keeping this a super stock machine....though thats not too practical at the moment being that the car is an everyday machine.
I would like to note once i do get the part im going to attempt a swap out video since youtube seems to be lacking one for 3gee's

Don't take this wrong but the decision is yours......
I will say this, the weber conversion does remove some of the complicated set up of the OE. Meaning that the issue may not be the carb but something like the fast idle unloader.

As promised though quite late, here is a video for all late 3 gee's carb location and mounting. This hopefully will help some folks out because the manual is kinda vague about locations and actual pipe layouts other than engineering diagrams.
NOTE: This is located UNDER the air filter and the whole air filter must be removed.
Feel free to leave comments as im just an amature and im sure there are issues with how i did my replacement.

So after determining it was not the insulator assembly and getting it idling right it now is unable to go faster than 35mph in any gear, it seems like when its in gear and revving theres a lack of power not sure what would cause this though.
The work done was originally a refurbished carb put on (mailed back to the company and a new one sent back, then installed) replacement seal on insulator assembly and gasket between manifold and insulator assembly. Car had timing adjustment done and basic tune up. It idles really well now upon starting it goes to 2,300rpm for about 3-5 mins then goes to 900-1k rpm it drove well for about a quarter mile and then when i got on the highway and gave it gas to get up to 50mph it stuck at about 35 and just wouldnt go faster no matter how much gas i gave it or the ammount of clutch work i did to build rpms.
I have the filters on order atm so thier still not changed out, the one thing i did forget to mention yesterday morning was that the carbs air control adjustment doesnt seem to work for beans i've turned and tweaked it but nothing seems to change.
