90 Accord Auto Tranny Issue

Hi,
New member here...
My 1990 Accord is having a problem. The "S" light is on, and I don't have the Sport button engaged. Also,I noticed a vibration coming from behind the dash while the car is in park. But as soon as I shift it from park, it goes away.
And...the car will only go in 1st and 2nd (or possibly 3rd, but I think only 2nd) gear.
I just got the car this past weekend and haven't driven it enough to understand it's quirks yet.
But I read in a few other posts that it could be the Trans Control Unit (TCU). With the symptoms above, would others agree that it could be the TCU. Also, anyone have an idea of cost. I can call the dealer tomorrow and see, or maybe try a junkyard (?), or is that not something I want used.
Sorry for the long post, and I know another thread existed with the same symptoms, but when I registered to join, I lost where that thread was.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks!
Will

a couple of things i would like t mention
# 1 DO NOT buy and start replacing parts until you properly DIAGNOSE what the issue is ,, you need to jump the sc connector , read and post the tranny ( s lite ) code here
# 2 the shaking that you feel could be the rear tranny mount broken .. actually chk all the mounts
but first things first read that code ,

I found it in posts I read, but this also gives detail.

And yes, desert,I planned on diagnosing it first, I just was tryingto get a feel for what it may cost for a TCU. And if I can get a used one, or am I better off going new.

if indeed does turn out to be the TCU ,, DO NOT buy a new one,, try to get 1 from a salvage yard or get a reman tcu.. also there are places that you can send yours in and they will reman it for you ,, I got no clue what the cost is,, but if it comes to that you might have to call around for the best option..
But ,,,get the code and post it here

Dumb question, but what can I use as a jumper wire for the Service Check Connector?
I'm assuming the connection doesn't carry any current. I don't want to cross the connection and short something out...
Thanks
