Default '91 auto not shifting

Another observation that just came to mind.

After I cleaned and reinstalled the VSS, I cleared the computer by removing the negative battery terminal and as soon as I start the car the "S" light is on. Every time I reset the computer. No movement or shifting. As always the "Check Eng Light" is out and doesn't come on until I drive it a bit and then it illuminates and throws a 17 code, VSS.

I did order a new VSS from the internet and it should be here thurs or fri.

If it isn't the VSS then the only thing I can figure it's the Auto Trans Computer.
I've cleaned and/or repaired everything else.

Thoughts?

Update; Wed, still waiting on the new VSS.

Cheers

Get the VSS installed and lets go from there.

Default '91 Accord shift problem, still !!

So, after an extended test drive at normal and fast, stop to curise cycles I parked the car for my friend and called it quits.

Three or so hrs. later went for some food and after 5 minutes or so, (several stop and starts for stop signs) the transmission down shifted from fourth to 2nd, (while in motion) and at the same time the "S" light came on.
Came to a stop light, stopped, turned left and a block or so later the "S" light went out and it started to shift again while in motion.
No "Check Engine Light" at all during this "S" light return.
Haven't shorted the code connector to check for stored code.
Went to drive up, ordered and went back to her house after one short side trip.
The light stayed off the rest of the time and didn't come on again. Shifted as normal.

W T F ?????????
I'm so sick of this .......

Cheers

Default More

Just tried to pull the codes if any, as there was no Check Engine Light, and nothing, no codes or flashing lights!

When I shorted the blue plug to read "Check Engine Light" flashes, the light was on but stayed on and no flashing. No "S" light.
Pulled the shorting wire from the connector and no Check Engine Light or "S" light.

Went for another test drive and couldn't repeat "S" light illumination and thus no shift problem as before on food run.

Did push the "Sport" button on the shift stalk and it worked as advertised.

??????????????????????

Cheers

So when you jumped it the S or D4 on the dash did not flash any codes? If this happens again, don't turn the car off - check for codes.

Did the speedo act up at all when this happened?
