this is my first time and sometimes it can be hard for me to explain what I mean without showing some so bare with me. for the last month ive been driving my 91 accord lx in limp mode....I know I know....that was probably stupid of me. but anyways heres what was going on.
my s light was flashing
when at a complete stop I could not take off in drive, had to put it in 2nd(a/t)and manually go threw the gears.
my codes I was getting were 7 & 8. and from my understanding 7 is shift solenoid A & 8 is shift solenoid B.
now I read and read but no one had the exact same problem. only similar. so I tried everything. I took off my solenoids(which are together) cleaned them up, and nothing. took off my egr cleaned it up and nothing. took off my ecu and my tcu to look for anything fried and nothing. pretty much just went down the whole list of things that "will fix the problem". yeah right. well at least it didn't cost me anything because I only cleaned everything not replaced it. finally I got my multi meter working(blown fuse) and checked the ohms resistance on the solenoids and to my surprise they were good. which was good for me because those things are almost 300 bucks. so ready to just except driving it the way I had been, I decided to check the codes again and of course they were the same 7&8 that I was used to seeing. but then something just clicked. duh if everything is fine that would cause this problem and my solenoids were good then obviously it had to be the power going to the solenoid. and since I wasn't sure on how I could test it. I went to my local pick apart and cut open the cluster of wires and pulled out the blue and green wires that go to the solenoid paid $1.50 came home and pulled mine out and plugged the new ones in. and son of a bitch wouldn't you know it, the s light stopped flashing and the car drives normal. and that was that. so if anyone is having this problem you might want to check this out. thank you for your time, I hope this helps someone

Yes, those connectors go bad pretty often.
