Exclamation 91 Accord Please Help

Hi I got a 91 accord a few months ago and it is the best car I have ever had. It drives perfect and everything works. Last night I was going to the store and before I got out of the driveway the engine was surging. Or reving up and then down. It didnt rev high but it was noticeable. Then when driving the S light started flashing. Then the trans started shifting at random. I noticed that my shifter (auto) was flopping around up and down. It was not locking into any of the drives. D4, D3, ect. It has always been a bit weird since I bought it but it has always driven nice. At times you could push the shifter and the dash would not see any gear all lights where blank. Or you would have to wiggle it in order for it to lock or click into place. I don't think it is the tranny itself. It has never made any noise or done anything like this before. Does anyone have any advice for me? Or has had this same problem? Thanks.

S light flashing means a trans code is stored. See DIY forum for instuctions on shorting service check connector and reading the S-light flashes. This is best clue to problems.

good luck
