Hi. Im new to this forum. My brother baught a 91 Accord for 400$. Now the car is having problems...guess that's what you get for a 400 dollar car.....
Anyways the problem started after he filled her up at a gaz station. The car simply refused to start. It had courant and the alternator is new. Looks like he's not getting gaz. So we left the car at the gaz station and came back the next day. It started right up the next morning! SO he brought it home. 15 minutes later he drives off and the car stalls on him. Now it starts but ends up stalling 10-15 minutes into driving it.
So Im not to familiar with Accords. I dont know there common problems. I was hoping somebody on this forum would have an idea what's the problem with this car.
Im thinking gaz pump but Im really not sure.
Any help would be appreciated

Starting problems are usually from either lack of spark or lack of fuel. Open the mem. take a look thread at the top of the gen. tech. help forum and check out the tegger site.
Have all of the tuneup items been done? Spark plugs, dist. cap, rotor, air filter, wires?
A quick test for fuel is: Try to listen for the fuel pump to turn on when you turn the key to the II postion and you hear the clicks. It comes on for a couple of seconds and is a faint whirling sound. You might need to listen at the gas cap with someone else turning the key.
For spark, keep an old spark plug handy. Ground the thread to the engine block and plug a wire into it. Have someone try to start the car and look to see if you get a spark at the plug.

You should locate the gas leak, but that doesn't mean that the fuel pump is bad. I would not install a fuel pump until you determine what is causing the car to stall, because you don't want to waste money on a properly working part. Plus, your fuel tank may have a hole in it. You don't want to repeat the job.
Is the check engine light on at all?
Stalling while driving usually points to electrical part the ignition switch. What happens when the car stalls? Does everything electrical just quit (tach, interior lights, etc?).
