Default 91 Accord SE Oil Cooler Line

Hey all, I just recently purchased a 91 accord se and it had a leak in one of the oil cooler hoses. I have the oil cooler removed and plan on replacing both the hoses while I have it off, but noticed how close the fitting is to the block. This is where the leak was at on the old hose I'm assuming due to being pinched in such a tight spot. Does anyone have a suggestion on a different way to attach the new hose via an adapter or anything so the new hose won't eventually have the same problem.

Thanks

Merged your two posts, because they are essentially the same post.

Is that large main line a rubber or metal hose/pipe?

Thanks, I didn't mean to double post.

It's metal.

The water coolant pipe may or may not have been removed/replaced before; then may not have been installed/reinstalled with as much clearance for the oil cooler hose to connect at the pipe nipple. The car is 31 years old, if you try to rotate the water coolant pipe for more clearance, depending on if there is corrosion, etc., it may end up breaking.

Easier and less chance of breaking the coolant pipe by just replacing the hose with the proper type hose, as is. It probably can last quite a while with just a new hose.

Hoses deteriorate quick if they get oil on it. If oil drips from somewhere else onto the hose, that can also cause the hose to fail.

The hoses came in yesterday and it's all put back together. Everything seems to be fine and no leaks.

Thanks for the info and suggestion.
