Default 92 accord - fuel leak

So,... The last couple of times I have driven my accord I had noticed a fuel smell and now just last night I found a leak. It is slightly dripping out near the driver side rear tire near the tank. There is a shield that I would need to remove first to get a better look at what is going on behind there first. I have not dealt with a fuel system repair before and I'm just wondering for some advice, or if this could be a dangerous job due to the gasoline leaking out and if it would be more worth it to bring it in. I would assume that the pressure would need to be released first before starting... The tank is about half full right now.

I would make sure that the exhaust is cold. I think that you can remove the shield to inspect what is going on. Since there is a leak, not much pressure can build up.
