Alcohol will combine and scavenge water from gas tank, w/i reason. There are additive products that contain alcohol. I have no idea about use of acetone.

good luck

Scratch that last idea after reading into the articles it looks like it may not be a good idea after all . It was also suggested that I may have a plugged cat. converter .

Well the eye cleaning was a pita, but not impossible. Even changed the coil while I was under there. However not even a mile trip after letting it sit all night got the cel back , any more ideas?

Default Codes

Just reset them was getting 12 and 43. How long should it take if the conditions are still present to warrant codes?

Default After reset and test drive

Now I'm getting code one (o2 sensor a) and 12. Not sure where the sensor is located, car has aftermarket header there is a plugged hole in the tube leading from the the number 2 cylinder. An aftermarket black box with 2 wires coming from it is on the top of the intake. After a google search found it to be a scam attachment to fool the computer into adjusting air intake. My fear is that he may have installed this to circumvent replacing an o2 sensor
