Default 93' Accord Won't Start - Any help thanks.

93' Accord was not having any problems, stalled out the other day while stopped i had to let it sit for about 45 minutes before it would start. Now it won't start at all, it cranks but won't turn over. I pulled the fuel line into the fuel-filter and cranked plenty of gas, then i pulled a spark plug and check for spark, held plug close to ground screw in the dark- NO Spark.I tested the ECU fuse and with the key to II, when i put the fuse back in I heard thesound of a click and humm.
Not sure where to go fromhere? Any help to pointme in the right direction would be great, need this car anddon't have money to pay mechanic. thanks.

It is very likely you have a failed coil or ignitor. There is a DIY FAQ procedure for distinguishing between coil and ignitor fault. My experience is the coil is more likely to be the fault than the ignitor.

good luck

thanks for the help.....i went to look at it today and now see that the 'Check Engine' light stays on. i jumper the service plug, turned the key to II and get a code of 15 ( one long followed by 5 short blinks). I looked online and it got: 15 Ignition Output Signal missing or defective ignition output signal.

Any help where to go next? thanks.

Same, loss of coil or ignitor might cause loss of ignition output signal. I know that a bad coil will cause tach signal to fail.

good luck

I had this same problem, about three weeks ago.

I found that the coil, was about 117.00 from Honda, and the ignitor was around 79.00. I stopped by Auto Advantage in portland, where I live, and found the entire distributer assembly, for $180.00, brand new, lifetime warranty. It installed in about seven minutes, with one ten milimeter socket, and now it runs better than it had in YEARS!

thanks for all the help....took the distributor off to test the Ignitor and found the yellow/green wire loose on the terminal. Plugged it onto the terminal and checked voltages, put everything back together and the car started right up!

thanks again.
