93 oil cooler oring replacement
CAN YOU GIVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO CHANGE THE O-RING BEHIND THE OIL COOLER ON A 1993 ACCORD EX. IT IS LEAKING (195K) ( I CLEANED OFF THE FILETER NO LEAK THERE) 1. WRENCH SIZE
2. DO I NEED TO DRAIN THE COOLANT OR WILL THE O-RING SLIDE UNDER BOLT.
3. ANY TIPS ON R/R
4. DOES A LEAK MEAN THAT ITS AN O-RING OR COULD THE OIL COOLER BE BAD.
THANKS , KEN

yThe 'O' ring under that intercooler is a known leak point. P/N 91316-PT6-003 About $3
I'll bet it is rock hard.
I think it is a 30mm nut on the oilcooler center bolt, been a long time.
You don't need to take off the coolant lines from the intercooler.
Heres a little trick for ya, clean the block threads with some brake clean and the block end of the center bolt, use locktite on those threads.
What I've seen happen is an over tight oil filter will cause that center bolt to back out of the block.
