Update

I replaced the the ECU and TCU, and the d4 light seems to be no longer blinking.
The vehicle still doesn't start every time though.
The best way I can some up what it is doing is that it starts in the morning, but not in the afternoon.
Every morning I can go out to my car and know it is going to start. In the afternoon, it's hit or miss. Sometimes takes me turning the engine over 100 plus times before it starts.

Does it seem related to the temp. Really hot in the afternoon and...no start. Cool in the afternoon and it does start. This would sound like a main relay. It could also be the ign switch.
Need to find out what is missing (fuel, spark, ect) when it won't start. Please don't replace anything I noted until they have been tested.

I will check for fuel and spark the next time it occurs.
During my split shift, I drive to work in the afternoon around 1:30 pm. The car usually starts. It's a 5 minute drive, and I work for about 3 hrs. When I go back to my car around 4:30 it won't start right away. I have to keep trying over and over again from 10 minutes to about an hour, until it finally starts. When it's running, the engine sounds great, and doesn't miss a beat. I myself don't know how to check for spark, and fuel, but I will find someone that can.

Thanks

Might be able to listen for the fuel pump, figure out the fuel issue. In the mornings, when it always starts, listen for the fuel pump to come on when the key goes to the on position, not to crank just on (position II). Radio, fan and everything else off so you can hear it better. Then in the afternoons, listen for the same sound. Not there and won't start is another sign of the issue.

Default Update # 2

I took out the main relay(major pain) and resoldered it. So far so good. I want to thank you for all your help. This is a great forum for someone like myself that doesn't know much about cars and can't afford a mechanic.

Good to hear. Hope that solves the issue forever. Also thank you for the update, too many times you never know the "end of the story". Learning or posting the answer can help many others down the road and last I checked that was what this was all about. Thanks
