1994 Honda Accord EX, 2.2L VTEC, 251K Mileage

On the climate control system of my Accord, everything works except for two things.

1. The "Face only" vent does not work at all, though the LED light above shines green.
2. The windshield only vent works, but the LED orange light above the button is intermittent - it sometimes comes on/sometimes does not depending on how hard I hit the button.

All other air vent modes work, so I am thinking of crossing out the mode control motor as a culprit.

Could it be the control panel of the air vent modes that needs troubleshooting? Secondly, if it is the control panel, would it be something I can open up and re-solder joints on the circuit board?

 

See this Bulletin, sounds like the issue. If you can solder, I'd take it apart

Heater Control Panel Indicators Do Not Light
SYMPTOM
The indicator light does not come on when its associated button on the heater control panel is pushed.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The heater control panel circuit board has fractured solder joints.

 

Re-soldering the joints on the mode switches and LEDs did the trick.

I followed the manual guide to check for continuity on the circuit board, and reinstalling was a breeze.
