Default 94 Accord Door Actuators

The door actuator on the rear passenger door makes a loud grinding noise when I lock it. I believe this is a sign that the actuator will eventually give out. I've been going to the junk yard studying other similar Accords, and is it the three screws in the side of the door by the latch that is the actuator? It seems as if the door latch and the actuator are one assembly. Is this the case? How do I remove and replace it?

Default RE: 94 Accord Door Actuators

Latch and Actuator are 2 different parts, the actuator is held on to the latchwith 3 tiny phillips head screws. With the innerdoor panel off there is no need to remove the latch
The actuator has a plastic tab inside it that retains a spring, the tab breaks loose, but you can fix it with epoxy and a stack of a"shims".
