I couldn't find a wiring description for that distributor. It is for the 97-02 prelude type S?

For the stock prelude setup using the TD-77U: There should be a bracket on the engine to mount the coil, that bracket is specific for the prelude. The coil is the same for any accord from 1990-1997 that is an LX or DX. You could likely pick up the coil at a junkyard (and the bracket if needed).

If you want to use the TD-89U Distributor, you are going to have to use a volt meter to identify some wires. The extra two connectors are likely due to the TypeS having another sensor in the distributor.

That first picture showing the five wires from the 97 EX connector to the plug on the distributor is all you will need.

The yellow and black wires are the cyp sensors.

The Accord CKP and TDC sensors are mounted under the timing belt cover on the oil pump housing, so I would not use those sensors in the distributor.

Attached a better pic of the distributor connector. Found on Ebay. Ebay is a good place to get pics of parts BTW.

No, what I am saying is to connect the 5 wires from your original plug, to the spots to the distributor plug as shown on the diagram (the top part).

That will leave four empty spots on the distributor plug shown in the lower part of the pic. You already wired those two sensors (CKP and TDC) wired to the ECU. Those two sensors are under the timing belt cover.

You shouldn't have to use the two repeated sensors inside of the distributor, unless you get an error code for those sensors.

Does your plug look like the one in the picture I posted?

It hard to tell what things look like. Can you take a picture of the connector and post it on here? Maybe take off the distributor cap and post a picture of the connections to the ICM and the coil?

If you look at the TD-89U pic I found on Ebay, it has all nine pins shown on that CD5tuner site you referenced. It is just all in one plug.

You will find out when you get the distributor if it has one or two plugs.

It should have nine wires going inside no matter what. Doesn't matter if the plug on the distributor is male, female, etc.

You know the identification of the 5 wires from the accord harness and those are the only wires you should need to connect to the new distributor. The CD5tuner site shows you how what to connect.

You can verify/compare the CD5tuner wire colors, by inspecting the distributor with the cap removed. The coil will have 12V IG and ICM GROUND, now you have a 50/50 shot.

The ICM GROUND wire only connects to coil and ICM, and nothing else. Now you will know the distributor wire color of 12V IG and ICM GROUND.

The ICM (4 wires) have 12V IG, ICM GROUND, TACH, and ECU. 50/50 shot at ECU/TACH. Tach should be next to 12V IG on the distributor plug.

CYP is a magnet with a sprocket of 16 teeth on it. Look at the wire colors going to that magnet. The other two sensor will have sprockets with 1 and 4 teeth.

If your determination of the wire colors match the CD5tuner site, then you should be good to go.
