97 Accord leaking oil
Ok so here's the story. You're welcome to laugh all you want, as I made a dumb mistake. So like 3 weeks ago I changed my oil by myself for the first time, and it was pretty easy. Although, I accidentally overfilled the oil by about half a quart. I continued to drive the car with the oil overfilled for about a week hoping that it would just burn off (Great idk btw, NOT!). Then, since it was pushing oil out of the oil cap on the top of the engine I decided to actually drain some oil out to normal level. Now it has been a full week and it is still dripping oil from the passengers side. It's not leaking from anywhere else that I can tell though. It looks like it's leaking out somewhere near the distributor/engine mount. I can't for the life of me figure out exactly where it's coming from though. Do you have any thoughts of where it might be leaking from? I'm sure I just broke a seal somewhere but I don't know where...

Four or six cylinder?
Not a problem on a four cylinder, I do it all the time due to oil burning. 1/2 qt. over won't cause oil to push out of anywhere; it won't hurt a thing.
Clean off the engine and find the leak.

Well obviously it was pushing out because before I drained some out it was coming out of the oil cap and now it's not.

F22B6 in his signature, so it's a 4-cyl. Overfilling like that isn't the best thing, but it won't cause the leak you're saying.
Still, clean it off & pinpoint the location it's leaking from. You think it's right where the distributor mounts against the engine? There's an O-ring in there, you can replace that.
If it's leaking INSIDE the distributor, dripping out from the distributor cap, that's a different story.

just went and felt under the cap of the distributor and wasn't to happy about what I found...it's leaking a few drops from inside the distributor every time I park! How expensive is this gonna be...

I'm guessing it would have to overfilled by gallons for that to happen. If that's the case then, yes, you'll have seals popping. Good luck fixing your distributor.
