97 ex heater control stays on?

I know this thread is old, but did the issue ever get resolved? I'm having the same problem with my car (same year and model, except I don't have a remote starter) and none of the advice given in here has worked for me.

This is typical. People post a problem and don't post a solution.
I will probably be easier for you to start a new thread. Just list what you have done so far and the results. We can give you suggestions on the next step.

I had this problem on my 97 Accord LX. In my case I was able to trace the problem to a faulty Radiator Fan control module... this is located behind the glove box. This module receives power even when the key is out, a fault in this module allowed voltage to backfeed to the climate control panel.

This indeed is annoying. When ever a problem rears its ugly head, I'll search google til my eyes pop out, 99.9999% of the posts are people with problems, someone posts a solution, then you never hear back from the OP if it worked or not... I assume it did work since they didn't come back and say "nope, whats next" -- but then again, you can never assume
I had a terrible vibration in my ford, and there were several people with the same problem, none of them ever posted back after several people tossed guesses at it. The threads were a few years old, but I made sure to comment what fixed "my" vibration, only to have people complain that I was posting on an old thread... My defense was that the threads were still searchable, and that someone with the same problem may need a fix suggestion --- Ah well... blah blah blah, ramble ramble -- off topic

I'm kinda with you. Someone posting into an OLD thread, that can provide valuable information for anyone finding that thread in his searching.
(But even here, some people will say something about reviving old threads)

What gets me is the people that complain about reviving an old thread are usually the ones that will comment on a post (that has been asked 100 times) that the OP didn't use the SEARCH function

I don't mind people posting their solutions to a similar problem on an old thread as long as they describe their problem in detail. The new post may have fixed a completely different problem, or I have seen a different model as well.
