Default 98 Accord Brake light problem

Long story short back lights light up when lights are on but all three brake lights (Left,Right, and the light over the back seat) do not work when brakes are pumped/pressed in.

Brake light switch?

Checked all the fuses, unhooked the battery and cant think of anything else

I did just have the pads replaced but the lights worked for a week after that until now so I don't think it could be that but I could be wrong

any info/ideas would be so helpful

thanks guys

brake light switch would be the next logical thing to check....watch the switch plunger action as well

ok so my dad busted out this "tester" ...had a red wire and a black wire to a light bulb...so i got under the dash and unplugged the switch from the wires.

The wires from the car to the switch have a plastic housing to just plug into the switch but the copper plugs on the inside are exposed...

i followed the white/yllw and blk/wht wires to their plug and tired to attatch the red prong on the "tester" to the ylw/wht and black prong to the blk/wht,when it didnt work i switched the prongs to the opposite wire and no results

is this an in effective way of testing or is it not the switch?

You should probably start a new thread. Your problem is likely different from the original poster's and other people will be confused when reading.
