Default 98 accord cranks but won't start

Hey guys I hope you can help me. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong with my car. It cranks but it won't start. It didn't have spark so I changed the distributor and that problem was solved but still didn't start. And I also changed the main relay. I can hear the fuel pump engage. Please help me

You haven't definitively established whether spark or fuel is the cause of no-start.

Suggest attempting to start w/ throttle body cleaner or starter fluid injected for 10 secs into air intake duct.

If no-start continues, then spark is missing. Check for 12V to blk/yel wire at the distributor connector.

If engine starts and runs briefly then spark is good, and fuel delivery is the problem; low fuel pressure, injector system fault (no injector fires).

Try this test and post your findings.

good luck

Ok tried the starting fluid and it didn't work. Then I check for voltage and it's reading 10.92

Low voltage may cause spark to be too weak to start engine. You should have battery charged and load tested.

good luck

I tried it while using jumper cables too.. So I don't think that's the problem. Someone told me earlier that the ecu might be bad. Could that be the problem?

No spark might be caused by ECM, but weak spark is unlikely. Suggest checking to confirm a spark is still being generated at plugs.

If you have a timing light, suggest checking that #1 is firing near TDC.

Any other recent work on engine? Distributor has a ground near thermostat that can cause no-start if loose or corroded.

Suggest also checking for spark leakage at distributor cap and ignition wires w/ water spray over parts. Look for sparks jumping at night when visible. Replace faulty components.

good luck
