Chase threads on coolant temp sensor w/ a tap. If you don't have experience w/ a tap, then get someone else to do this.

good luck
I've identified the middle and right one. I may have to go junk yard hunting for the left one, some type of water outlet.

Be careful, the temp sending unit - the right one in your pic - should be "pipe thread", if memory is correct 1/8th inch "pipe" thread.

If the threads are messed up on the sender, get another sender. The sender is harder than the aluminum head, so a new sender avoids damage to the threaded hole in the head.

I'm not understanding what you're implying. Do I need to do something before installing it? Or are you just saying I need to make sure it has correct thread specs?

I have already ordered a new sender. My main concern is the water outlet coupling. It was corroded all the way through, affecting even the aluminum threads in the head. I'm surprised that shop didn't notice enough to query whether I wanted that addressed. I can't even identify the part, let alone wonder about the thread issue.

That hose nipple (#10 in picture) is 19500-PT0-000 and maybe $10 or less at the dealer.

Another thing, you'll need to do some block prep before installing the head and gasket. I normally take pistons half way down, stuff bores and cooling ports with paper towel, and use 400 grit wet sand paper on a sanding block to clean contact surface. Since the engine overheated, I'd check block for warpage with a straight edge. I normally use OEM headgasket just for the pain this job is. I sold my manual, but there's a tightening sequence, in 2 stages with specific torques, and I believe an angle finish torque; somebody with a manual may help. Before reassembling make sure to rotate crank to line up marks, just like for timing belt job. Make sure the head sproket is also lined up, don't need bent valves.

I now have all the new parts, do I need to put anything like lock-tite (Honda-bond?) on the threads before installing?
