Default 99 Accord hard to start

99 Accord 4 cyl. manual. 210,000 miles. Was running fine, parked and sat for a couple of days then would not start. Replaced the ignition coil (tested possibly bad), ICM checked good (was replaced about a year ago). After new coil installed and several attempts, fired up and ran fine. Turned off and re-started several times no problem. Fourth try at starting, cranked and stumbled but no start. Several more tries, started again and ran fine. Another try and no start. Tried starting fluid and no difference so I assume that I have fuel and it's an electrical intermittent problem (sensor?) Once car starts it runs and revs fine. Please help.

Thank you!

Check for power to the distributor on blk/yel wire when no-start is present. If 12V is missing, then keyswitch assy is indicated. Replacement is easy. Check DIY forum for guidance.

good luck

I have been looking everywhere to a problem similar to the one i have been having with my 97 accord. This is the closest i have found. It has the F22b2 (non-vtec) has about 223,xxx. I have replaced - starter, battery, ignition switch, plugs, wires - I also bought a main relay to try and it didnt solve the problem so i took it back. Its only left me stranded once, i jumped it and it sounded the same but it started, it seems like its not getting a steady stream of power when starting. Thanks for any help!

Since the first post is pretty new, I would start a new thread, so this one does not get confusing.

Describe exactly what is happening when you turn the key to start the car. Does the starter spin the engine like normal? Is the car not firing up (that is the point where you release the key, because the engine is running)?
