99 Honda Accorn V6...all my console lights are on
Help
I have a 98 honda accord with 260K miles - yup...I have 260,000 miles on this puppy, today, I noticed all the console lights are ON...yeah...all the lights are on even the "door" open lights are on. I noticed my headlights kinda weak...is it the battery?
I do not have $$$ for a new accord.
thanx in advance

First check the battery terminals and verify that they are not corroded and that they are tight as well. If there is no corrosion and they are both tight, take the car down to AutoZone or Advance Auto or a similar auto parts store and have them load test your battery. With that many miles if you've never replaced the alternator there's a chance that it could be the cause. If they find that your battery is fully charged (which might be unlikely if the alternator is on the blink) they can test the alternator as well. Otherwise they'll have to charge your battery and then test the alternator.
I had a problem with my '96 several weeks ago and wound up replacing both the battery and the alternator. All my gauges were going crazy. My ABS light would come on and stay on... the speedo and tach would jump around erratically... wierd stuff when the charging system starts going caput.

To Nixalot
thank you very much for your advices. I took my car to Autozone and got the alternator tested. It was not working. After I replaced it...voila....my car is back in business
thanx again
