'99 V6. Squealing sound. Vortex in PS reservoir?
Greetings experts, enthusiasts, etc.
I'm working on my mom's '99 Accord V6. She said that she heard a loud squealing from the engine compartment. At first I was thinking idler or tensioner/idler assembly. When I got to look and listen at/to the car, I didn't hear any squeal. However, based on what I read in other forum threads on squealing type noises, I took a glance at the PS reservoir. When I did I noticed that the fluid seemed to be more agitated than I remember it being. Or maybe I didn't notice it? There's no foam or bubbles, but the fluid may have some sort of anti-foaming formulation. I'm guessing. When I pull the little red Christmas tree plug out of the reservoir when the car is running, it looks like I'm staring into a batch of margaritas being blended. There's a vortex in the center. Is that normal? Or can that be due to the bad o-ring(s) on the PS pump hoses? Any help is appreciated. Many thanks ahead of time.

Thanks, PAhonda. I'll check into the size and material of the o-rings and see about replacing them.
So, am I to surmise that agitating PS fluid is abnormal? In other words, a normal reservoir will have fluid that looks pretty static when the car is running, rather than bouncing around? The car doesn't have a rough idle, FWIW. Thanks.
