Default About To Give Up

Ordered a Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor from Autozone(149.00+tax).According to mechanic wrong one!Returned FTPS though Autozone argued it was correct FTPS.Mechanic got a used FTPS which was wrong!Went to Firestone for scan, results was code #PO450.Same as frist scan!(from mechanic)Firestone tech says a 1996 Honda Accord 2.2 has no FTPS.Tech says it's a bad computer throwing faults. This is what my first scan mechanic said when the said my distributor needs replacing(forgot code #)I went to salvage yard & bought a computer.Which this computer is throwing PO450 codes.I'm now told to purchase a computer from Dealer to solve problems. Can the computer be reprogramed? If so where is there a reputable shop/company to do this?I see lots of places on the net, however after reading reviews most are ripoffs!

Search the web a bit. The code starts with the letter P and has four numbers, so your code is P0450, not PO450.

I don't see that code in my list for the 96 accord. You may want to try checking for codes the OBD1 way. See the link for checking codes in the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help forum.

If you're going to pay for mechanical service, next time go to the Honda dealer ...

Have you looked at bone yards or car-part dot com for a used one, then you can do it yourself.....
