I've got a 2003 Accord LX that is blowing hot air when I turn on the AC. Took it to a shop to get it diagnosed and after 2 hours and nearly $300 they still didn't know what was wrong. If I let the hot air run it will occasionally switch to cool air for 30 seconds - 5 minutes before going hot again. Any ideas as to what my issue could be would be much appreciated.

 

Your description is vague. Can you find out what testing they did, and what they ruled out when doing the diagnosis?

Is the compressor clutch engaging? Did they test the high and low pressures in the system? Numerous items can cause your a/c not to blow cold air. Without what testing they did, it is hard to give advice.

Also, are you planning on doing the testing yourself, or are you going to go back to the shop?
