Accord '09 Hood latch won't lock
Hi, I have a problem with my Accord 2009 base model, hope someone here can help me. Thanks!
I did my oil change few days ago and sprayed little bit of degreaser to clean everything under the hood. I may have sprayed a little on the latch for the hood. When I try to close the hood, it won't lock. I try to applied more and more force to shut it, no luck.
I checked the the little flipping switch inside the vehicle (the switch use to unlock the hood) and the cable feels a little loose. When I flip the switch, the cable is stretched. but when I released the switch, it did not retract. Any idea? thanks!

If you're having trouble with the cable, I would check/replace the cable (if necessary) before trying to close the hood. Because if the hood can latch and you have trouble with the cable, you're going to have a difficult time re-opening the hood.
The hood latch should be greased at various points on it. Also check for any bent/misaligned components such as the striker, or latch etc.
