plenty of people drive an auto that's fixed up, manual transmissions are better for racing since you can control them more but for novice racing an automatic would probably beat a manual if it was driven by someone who didn't know how to shift/drive that well.... People can trash talk all they want but it's hard to make fun of a car when you beat them.....

IMO the manual tranny is better for acceleration because you could rev them high and launch the car with such power andplus you could hear your engine roar when doing so.but it is also a better fuel saver(unless you drive like a maniac).and yes!! your car is worth fixing up,so what if is an auto.i ended up with this car of mine because it is the only one that i could find worth buying,i was looking for an auto tranny cuz the bumper to bumper trafficsucks when u have a stick.

In the long run which lasts longer, the AT or the manual? Sure you will eventually have to replace the clucth on a manual but don't they last longer than an A/T?

it all depends on how you maintain your vehicle and the way you drive your car. If you keep up with your maintenance uplike fluid changes (which is several thousand miles before..) you can keep your car for a while. Driving style also can have an effect too. shifting hard,or riding the clucth will prematurely decrease the life of your clutch plate. i know there are some auto tranny's(don't know what year it is) has real issues with their transmission(poorly assembled i guess) so its not reallywhich would last longer, its' the way you wouldtake care of it, butsometimes...its luck
