Default All Jacked Up 03 Accord Ex V6

Ok so we were having tranny problems and bought an 06 accord with less miles drove it home and swapped out the motor and tranny along with its wiring harness. Got it in and the motor sounded bad like timing chain rattled so we pulled it back out put my motor back in with the other tranny and my original wiring harness in but D keeps flashing and abs, brake, and TCS light are on. Car will drive but you have to manually shift or wait to for it to go with hesitation. Car has speed once it goes. Please help I want my car back. And boyfriend is getting real frustrated

I'm confused; your post title says a V6 Accord, but there is no such a thing as a V6 Accord with a timing chain; did you pull a 4-Cylinder motor from the 2006 car and try to retrofit that to your 2003?

Ok well I don’t know motors. No it is a 3.0 motor both cars were. Whatever is on the other side of the pulleys sounded like s*#t. Since my motor sounded better we put it back in with the tranny off the 06.
Would be better if he got on here but getting him away from the car to ask for help is like pulling teeth

He needs to recheck connectors and solenoids. What fluid was put in the trans. Something is being missed if it was the same trans put back in. What codes were pulled

You might want to look for an 03 AT for it, and put the original wiring harness back in it. It's possible that something is wrong with the "new" trans, and it might be in the electronics. Can you get it to bring up any codes? (D4 light flashes)

It is the original wiring harness and he did find two connectors undone but that didn’t make a difference. Still drives as long as you manually shift through the gears. So I guess the next thing is check for codes.

See that's the thing about these Honda AT's, they really need to match the year of the vehicle due to the electronics in them. An example of this is the 6th gen Accord, where there was 2 different transmissions used for that gen (not counting the different 4 cylinder versus 6 cylinder transmissions). There was the 98 thru 00 style trans, and the 01-02 style trans. The difference mainly being the electronics used in each style. This is even called out in the Factory Service Manual (FSM). I don't know if the 03 on are like this too, and or what years are the break offs for swapping. It might be that the years are just not compatible, or that you need an 06 ECU to run the later trans, which might give you trouble with the engine running good. I just don't know enough about the 7th gen to be of any real help. I think in 03 and later versions the trans is the same, as Honda had stopped using the CCW 4 cylinder engine, which eliminated the need for 2 different versions of transmissions (like previous models).

When Honda introduced the K-series 4-cyl engine in 2003, now the 4-cyl engine spins the same direction as the V-6. But I'm pretty sure that it's NOT the same transmission.

Correct, the transmission from the I4 engines was not the same as the H5 transmission used for the V6 models. FWIW, the H5 transmission in the 2006-2007 V6 Honda Accord is considered the best of the series with the correct bellhousing bolt pattern for the older V6 engines.
