Gents:

I am replacing the aluminum AC lines in my 92 EX, but can't bring myself to pay the dealership prices. Anyone have a source for bulk alum tube and fittings, or aftermarket lines at a fair price?

Those a/c lines are probably dealership only parts.

What is wrong with your a/c lines?

While removing my engine and trans I bent the low pressure line bad enough that it got a leak where it connects to the compressor and all the freon came out.

 

This is one of those parts that I would get from a junkyard. Those lines seem to last a long time unless you get into an accident.

 

I need to get my A/C going again asap.

 

Then I would go to the U-Pull-It yard to get the lines.

I would suggest doing the repair right the first time. IMO, that would involve replacing all of the o-rings in the system. Even the ones under the dash. I would replace the styrofoam in the evaporator. Definitely replace the receiver/drier.

You will probably want to inspect the compressor. If there is a coating of grease around the pulley bolt, then you would want to replace the shaft seal. I also replaced the o-rings in the body when I did mine.

TexasHonda can give you some pointers. He has done some a/c work. I did the a/c on my 95 and it ended up working well after the repair.
