Default ATF Change

I am wondering if once you drain the transmission new fluid is added through the dipstick. The manual doesn't say where to add the fluid, and I am afraid it may have to be pumped in (?). I am not doing a flush, just a change as described in the factory service manual. Thanks.

Fill it from the dipstick hole. You will need a long neck funnel

Thanks to all. I had a new transmission put on several years ago, and not at the Honda dealer. The service manual says Dexron II will work, so I am using AdvanceAutoParts brand fluid that is compatible with Dexron II-IV, etc...should that be okay?

Lots of people have reported harsh shifting & other things with non-Honda brand fluid. I've only used Honda fluid so I can't say firsthand.

dexron III will work ,, but i would strongly reccomend Honda ATF-Z1 ,, it is a bit more expensive but well worth the money ,, You will need 3 qts for a drain and refill and yes you do fill it from the dipstick hole as it was adviced by other members
