On my 2003 Accord EX 4 door, the Brake Indicator light on the dash is on when I release the parking brake (this is the indicator light under the seat belt indicator light). The fluid level was on the low side so I did top it off to the Max line but light is still on. Car stops good and the parking brake is not dragging. All lights parking, brakes & turn signals are working, Brake pads are good. Any Ideas

 

Old, residual brake fluid in the reservoir can cause the float for the brake fluid level switch to stick in the down position, causing the indicator to stay on.

Try using the handle end of a screwdriver to tap on the top of the reservoir to see if it goes out.

Just for diagnostic (not for a fix) unplug the sensor on the side of the brake-fluid reservoir. If that doesn't fix it, then you know it's not related to the fluid-level switch.

 

could be a defective park brake switch as well...

 

I unplugged the electrical plug on the side of the Brake Reservoir and the light did go out. I also banged on it with a screw driver handle and the light will not go out.
Is there a way to clean the sensor without taking off the master cylinder.

 

Earlier years it was a simple float built into the CAP of the reservoir. Pretty sure in 2003+ it's something built into the side of the reservoir.

You might be able to take off the plastic reservoir without actually removing the master-cylinder. Then if you're really careful you can get away without getting air in the MC, & avoid bleeding the brakes. But I think that'll be very difficult because the reason for the funny-shaped reservoir is the MC is tucked back under the cowling without much room to work.
