Low brake fluid can cause the light to come on.

e-brake might not be all the way to the off position or most likely what finch said, low on brake fluid.

dose the brake light on the back of the little car symbol that shows you what door is open, mean like the acual brake lamp itself is out or low fluid?

There are TWO brake warning lamps. One of them is for the handbrake & low fluid.

Sounds like Poolman is talking about the one thats SUPPOSED to detect burned-out brake light bulbs.

That one is based on comparing wattage among the brake lamps. Sometimes a dirty socket can set it off, loose, corrosion or something like that. Sometimes it can be set off by a bulb growing old & gradually changing its electrical resistance. Sometimes you have to replace ALL the bulbs just so they MATCH each other.

Thanks Jim!! It looks like you put me in the right direction. I took all the bulbs out and cleaned the sockets ( they didn't look bad ) and the light went out.
