Default Brakes Squeak Honda Accord 00

Im having a major problem with my honda accord. Its a 2000 Honda[/b]
Accord[/b] Coupe. My braksks have been squeking like crazy. But only when
Im going below 5 miles per hour. Usually they are terrible if I am in
stop and go traffic, or in a parking lot. But they never do it when I
go about 10 miles per hour. I have had my brakes replaced twice within
the last six months. Both dealers told me it was fixed. I went again
to another dealer a week ago and they applied some lubricante and told
me my brake pads were fine. But immediately the very next day It began
to squeak. Is there anything I can do to solve this problem. I have
spent alot of money already on parts and labor. I dont even care what
it costs to fix.....I just cant stand the noise anymore its driving me
crazy.

I would take a wheel off and have somebody step on the brake and make sure everything looks good. My car does something similar, there is a small gap in between the rotor and the pad and when I barely touch the brakes there is a noisy squeal even though I did my brakes a six months ago. 2000 accords have 4 wheel disc brakes right? Did they do all the brakes or just front/rear? Are you sure it is the brakes? It almost sounds like there could be something else wrong, i.e: torque converter grinding, tranny issues. Check your fluid and make sure its full.

cheap fix=louder stereo

The problem is that most mechanics don't use anti-squeal anymore because the anti-squeal shims are supposed to correct this problem. I've had to re-apply anti-squeal on all of my wheels because of this. I go overkill on the stuff also. If you get 2 of the small packs and spread it where there is contact on the back of the break pads, the squeal should go away. The spray kind sucks, so stay away from that.

Most anti-squeal goop is a type of grease. But I believe I've seen some that's more like a rubbery glue. Don't remember where I saw it, but if the grease type doesn't last long you might want to look for it.

The rubbery gluee-type stuff is better, but I haven't seen it in stores for a number of years. I usually go to Strauss since it is 3 blocks from me,. but their selection isn't any good.

Even the dealer has different quality OEM pads, have them put their best, if they did, then go for #2.

I prefer Hawk or EBC over OEM.
