Stock T-stat is probably not 170, so I'll guess you didn't get it from a dealer?? Is it possible you got the T-stat in wrong? Backwards? Little rattle-pin vent needs to be at the top.

When you refilled the coolant, did you bleed the air out of the system by opening the bleed valve on top of the thermostat housing?

No I did not bleed the air out. How do I do that? Might have found some of the overheating issue. Both my fans are on but they are not going in the same direction. Traced wires down on radiator fan and found someone had cut wires and taped back, but crossed them. After connecting blue to blue and black to black, they are now going the same way. They are supose to turn the same way correct?? Because I have not bleed air out, will I have other problems and how is it done? Thanks alot for all good info

Engine should be cold. Remove radiator cap.

There is a bleed valve on top of the thermostat housing. It takes a 12mm deep socket to loosen. Allow all air to spit out, then close valve when a steady stream of coolant comes out. Top off radiator.

Thanks pahonda Blead air out this morning, and I already crossed the fan wires back. NO MORE OVERHEATING. but since it had overheated on me twice and probally a few times with previous owner(thats probally why they sold), could there be a pemenant damage. Checked oil and water and no sign of mixing, but at around 3k rpms engine makes a rattling sound?? Now no more overheating I can get back to my cool a/c problem.

I don't know if the fans are supposed to spin the same way (clockwise vs. counterclockwise). But I DO KNOW that they are both supposed to blow air towards the engine. Not away from the engine.

both fans are now blowing toward motor and no more overheating. Anyone know how hard it is to change timing belt on 94 accord lx?

Its more tedious than hard, because you have a lot of things to remove. Do your homework before you start the job, so it will go smoothly. Download a 94 shop manual from Online Manuals thread in DIY section.

The hardest part is removing the crank pulley bolt, because it will take a lot of force to remove.

Here is a good post dealing with a 92 accord. https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ead.php?t=3977

The 92 procedure is almost the same as a 94, and will give you an idea of what you will be doing.
