I have a 2003 Honda Accord lx, yesterday I was finishing up a 3 hour road trip when the light next to N on the dash started blinking as I was driving. If I pressed the gas to try to accelerate it would blink and I wouldn't gain any speed but if I kept the gas steady it wouldn't blink and I could cruise. About 5 minutes after that, the car shut off on me and locked the wheels almost sending me off the road. I started the car up and was able to drive maybe 2 feet before it shut off again. Now she will turn over but not even try to start. Any ideas what this could be or what I can do to narrow down the problem?

 

Light next to N could be D or P, but D flashing means a trans problem. Suggest getting obd2 code which should be stored. Autozone will extract for free, if you can get there. However, a simple code reader is only about $50.
