hello friends, I am using accord 98Lx, 2.3L, auto trans. 4cylinders. My check engine light has been on since i did some minor work in the exhuast tube, actually we change the catalytic converter due to presence of holes in it, since then the light has been on. Does it have any damage on the engine? How can we make the light goes off? Presently the car is moving fine and normally only to Change engine oil and oil filter every 3months. Thanks

 

Need to find out what the codes are. Many part stores will check these for free. Stop by one and get the actual code from them ("P" and four digits, like P0420). Let us know what the code(s) are and we can go from there.

Could be, that is why we need to know what the issue is?

Some codes, while not good, are not going to cause larger issues. Others are causing damage or if left too long will cause other things to fail....more $'s. Spend ~$45 dollars now or ~$500 later.
